L’Eléphant Perdu is a theatrical performance on the border of object theatre, dance and visual arts. Inspired by Surrealist stories and images, Oortocht sets loose our deepest fantasies on the audience. We invite them to not only look at them, but even take place amidst them. L’Eléphant Perdu is a visual experience around and between the public, a thrilling dream that makes us wonder what is real and what’s not.
“The performance is an experience and reveals, despite of some ‘childhood diseases’, a rampant fantasy, guts and the capacity to force spectators beyond the limits of understanding through surreal images (with a melancholic layer). Right into the black hole of astonishment, stillness and reflection.”
